Quotes (Emma and Rupert)
Is Emma bossy like Hermione?
RUPERT: I'd tell you, but she'd hurt me.
Which character did you think was the scariest?
RUPERT: For me, Hermione. Just kidding! Voldemort.
What are the perks of being in a HP movie?
EMMA: I'd say going to different places. We went to loads of locations which was really fun, met some new people, and it was fantastic acting with really good co-stars, ie. Maggie Smith, Robbie Coltrane, Zoe Wanaker, Julie Walters, and it was just a great cast.
RUPERT: And for me, probably the sweets.
EMMA: (Rolls eyes) I say a long sobby speech, and he says... 'sweets'.
How would you describe each other? What are each of your special characteristics? Emma, go first. Tell us about Rupert.
EMMA: Rupert has a very good sense of humor, and he's our teacher on the set. He's also very excited about his mobile phone. He loves his mobile. He picks up the phone like, "Oh, somebody loves me!" And Rupert says, "Bet it's the wrong number." He's so witty and fast.
OK, Rupert, tell me about Emma.
RUPERT: She's really clever.
DANIEL: Yes!
RUPERT: Really clever, and she's got a good sense of humor. If we pull a prank on her, she might cut us off.
DANIEL: She'll just hurt us. (More laughter)
What was the most fun or best thing about making the film?
RUPERT: I was a really big Harry Potter fan. And Ron was my favorite character so it was wicked to play him in the film. I just love acting. The acting part was best.
EMMA: Rupert just nicked that out of my head. No, at the very beginning I was fanatic about Harry Potter. I was already in the middle of the third book. I loved acting. I've been in every school play possible. The best thing? People I work with. They been so nice to me and made sure that the time I spent doing this amazing film was very good.
(DVD Review Magazine) Do you feel you're becoming more or less like your characters as the films go on?
RUPERT: We've all been together for so long and worked together for so long, we don't have to act at being friends because we all are.
EMMA: I remember, during the first two films particularly, denying very strongly that I was even close to Hermione's character. But after the third one and particularly now I'm thinking that she might not be such a bad role model. So actually I don't mind too much.
RUPERT: Ron and me have both got ginger hair and I'm quite scared of spiders. Stupid things like that.
(DVD Review Magazine)What new sides of your characters do we see inGoblet of Fire?
EMMA: During this one you see Hermione in such a different light. She puts on a pretty dress and does her hair nicely, and that's nice because she's been such a.... not a tomboy, but Ron and Harry have never seen her like that. No-one recognises her at first. So that's interesting. And for the first time she's experiencing a crush. She's not even aware of what's happening to her, but, in effect, she's being swept off her feet by Viktor Krum. So that's a whole new experience for her, definately.
RUPERT: In this one, Ron falls out with Harry quite a lot and he's moody and all that stuff. He has a lot of fights. That's quite fun to do, actually.
(DVD Review Magazine)There are constant rumours that each film will be your last. Are you happy to do more?
RUPERT: I've just finished school so I've got nothing else to do...
EMMA: What I would say about working on the Harry Potterfilms is that every day is different and every set is different, and you do learn something new every day. And there are always new actors. I feel that it's still challenging me, definately.
(DVD Review Magazine)Having read the new books, is there anything you're particularly looking forward to in the next couple of films?
RUPERT: Dunno, I haven't read the sixth book yet.
EMMA: Well, of course, Hermione and Ron get closer...
RUPERT: Urgh. We don't have to kiss, do we?
RUPERT: I'd tell you, but she'd hurt me.
