This is a poem based on Take off Your Mask and the Sequel. 

 The Waves Will Wash it Away

A shadow in the darkness,

Waiting to be seen

In proper light,

Hidden

And lost.

An echo in the daylight,

Bouncing on every chance

Yet fading into the distance,

Fearful

And safe.

A completely seen-through soul,

Like a ghost

But with an impenetrable heart

Buried in deception,

Never

To be found.

Knowing you

But being forgotten,

My tears, my dreams, falling into the ocean,

Being washed away,

Into

The distance

Dreaming of taking

Off the mask,

Dropping it into the ocean,

And letting the waves wash

My hopes

To shore.

Let me reveal myself,

Because I know you

But you’ve

Never known me

Outside

Of this trap.

I want to take off this mask,

Throw it into the ocean,

But I fear that your love for me

Will

Wash away

With

It.
